Ben Affleck is officially part of "Red Sox Baby" , a new educational DVD promising to "instill a love of the Red Sox in young ones". Plenty of current and former Sox luminaries chipped in. We got an advance copy of a partial chapter listing:
- "Your Newborn and the Red Sox": A Life's
CurseBlessing. - "Learning the Calendar, a Lesson About the Days and Months" with Haywood Sullivan
- "A is for Aase, Z is for Zimmer!" - A spelling lesson hosted by Doug Mientkiewicz
- "Grammar: The Third Person and How to Speak in it", with Wade Boggs
- "Jersey Girl and Gigli: What the Heck Was I Thinking?" - Ben Affleck
- "Geography and the Great Lakes" - Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd
- "Down on the Farm with the Rooster" - Rick Burleson
- "VORP, MORP, UZR, and OPS+", a Math Primer with Bill James. For advanced babies only.
- "Don't Slap! Being Nice to Your Friends", with special guests Alex Rodriguez and former Sox Bronson Arroyo
"Haywood Sullivan" -- I was reading Seth Mnookin's blog (another example of Sox blogs being better than Yankee blogs) and started thinking that if Haywood Sullivan and Dan Duquette had been half as smart as John Henry and Theo, Nomar could have worn a WS ring.
John Henry has shown that the Sox are a cash cow. Haywood Sullivan ran a bargain basement operation (and wanted to tear down Fenway, the perfect recording studio and cash cow for NESN). If he'd been smart, he could have kept the Rocket AND gone for Pedro, and that would have been a tough one-two to beat. One year, they would have won.

You forgot "The Yankees Suck" -- Soxbaby's first words.

I can say with great pride that I will not and have not taught Soxbaby those words.
He is very smart, and will no doubt be able to figure it out for himself.

Ah, but Nomar does have a WS ring, he was given one for his contributions to the 2004 team.

Uh, ask Nomore if he'd rather one from 2004 or 1998.

I was reading Seth Mnookin's blog
I'm sorry. Was it a painful experience?

Ben K., are you a Yanks fan or a Sox fan?
I'm a Yankee fan, and I think Mnookin is very good.
