Doug Fister has a 1.84 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP to go with is .230 BAA, yet is 0-2 in his five outings. The lanky right-hander gets the start for the Tigers, while the Sox send Felix Doubront to kick off the first of four against Les Tigres at Fenway. Comment away.
Yardwork, as in got stuck doing the lawn and forgot to do the gamer. Yardwork, as in they need some off Tommy Milone. He gave up three in a game to the Sox. Maybe he'll be kind to the Yanks.. comment away.
The Sox send Clay Buchholz to the mound to try to hold the Rays down. Clay gives up lots of runs, but it usually works out just fine because the Sox score lots more when he is pitching for whatever reason. Except for the last time he faced the Rays, two starts ago at the Trop. The opposing starter in that game was Jeremey Hellickson who was solid in that start but had a rough go against the Jays his last time out. He's on the bump for St. Pete at Fenway. Comment away.
Boston's offense is in a virtual tie with Texas for the Major-League lead in runs/game. Since May 11th, the Sox have scored 71 runs and won 11 out of 13 games. Jon Lester takes the mound at Fenway to face the Rays in the first of a three-game set with both teams coming off a day of rest. Alex Cobb gets his second start of the season for Tampa. Comment away.
The Yanks and Sox are idle. The Rangers and Devils don't play until tomorrow. Game 7 of the Celtics and Sixers is Saturday. It seems a quiet day, but not noiseless. There is work to do, and chores. I guess I'll probably have to talk to people at some point. Damn it.
