anybody else find the posada comments backing clemens odd? this has to be an affront to pettitte.

“I believe Rocket, he’s the guy I believe.”

Please, for the love of all that is able to see and hear:

GO AWAY!!

I'm so sick of hearing this. Really. I know that some have a interest, but I just can't care any longer.

I don't know if it I would call it odd, but it is a bit curious. I guess if Molina starts catching two of the five starters we'll know the answer.

Sorry you're so PO'd Brad. I like this story. I revel in its uberridiculousnessocity. Waxman's an effing congressman, yet Tough All Day and his counselor can get congress to sit up, roll over, and beg just by "insisting on it." Supposedly. Hey, Rocket, "insist" us up some flying cars, wouldya?

I can't stop watching, the whole thing is addictive. Having Hardin say Roger will eat Novitsky's lunch and then getting publicly bitchslapped for it is the stuff of dreams.

Feeble dreams to be sure but I don't watch soap operas- this does the trick nicely.

Those of you who have collected the Best American Sports Writing compilation book, go dig out the 1992 volumn, edited by Thomas McGuane. In it is a piece by Jan Reid about Clemens that appeared in Texas Monthly. It opens with Clemens first public appearance since he was run out of Game 4 of the '92 ALCS against Oakland by Terry Cooney. It's the annual UT alumni game in austin. (Clemens and his brother Randy had been arrested a couple of days before for assaulting a cop.) Clemens gets to pitch to the first batter. For the second year in a row, he throws at the head of the leadoff batter on the first pitch. Bottom line, the story is not flattering of Roger. And you read it and realize he hasn't changed much. Still an ass. Still a mental midget. ... I've tried to find it on line with no luck. Story isn't archived on the Texas Monthly Web site.

The saddest thing is that Roger believes his own lies. He wants people to go to jail to protect his legacy. He doesn't see that there's a limit to what you should expect from your friends.
Sad. Very sad.
...

Also, please say a prayer for Northern Illinois University. We live 30 miles almost due east from DeKalb. Although my family has no other connection to NIU, we know many, many people who do.
This whole thing is creepy and numbing and sad and undescribably maddening. I said last year after Va. Tech that it would happen again and that it could happen anywhere. I've never felt worse about being right.
And then I have to hear about the merits of conceal/carry laws. ...

and he (Waxman) is wasting my tax dollars on HGH....aint that a bomber or an iceberg?

ag, I wasn't po'ed about the story. Clearly you guys write the happenings, but I was more speaking to the whole issue itself. I too think it's insane to have a pissing match between a dirty texas lawyer and sniveling politician who thinks he's above the rim.

Good to see you around these parts again, Bill.

Brad, I gotcha. We're right on the same page.

Sorry to go off on a tangent. There's not really a good place to put this story about Tavarez but this thread seems to need the most comic relief. Is there another player that would express such honest surprise at having his option picked up? Perhaps the bad feeling in the pit of my stomach when he takes the mound is worth all the giggles when he's off mound?
