Carl Pavano, the gift that keeps on giving... to satirists.

Awesome. Thanks for the laugh, AG.

I mean, can he even remember how to pitch? He has to learn everything all over again it has been so long.

Having fun at CP's expense is certainly cheap and easy. I sincerely hope he returns to the bigs and experiences some success. I really do.

Wait, does being a satirist mean that I worship the devil, or that I like inflicting pain? I seem to never be able to remember that one. Oh, I'm pretty sure it means I wish I were part goat. Sweet, it's Friday and it's wine o'clock.

And about that image — gosh, I miss Phil Hartman.

I think being a satirist means you have a thing for satyrs.

Ah geez, I doubled up on a joke you already made. Sorry 'bout that.

That quoted paragraph doesn't scan very well for another reason: "broken into two" is really clumsy. As The Onion pointed out once, it's like trying to tell someone you also just got back from Saw II.

Carl might be funny, but whoever is still reporting on him has a pretty weird sense of humor. Shouldn't he have just cut bait on him a long time ago? Everyone else has.

FSP: the question is has he cut his own bait, or is he genuine about wanting to be a big-leaguer? If he is diligent in his efforts to return, I would love to see his effort rewarded.

so....My wife and I have been given the opportunity to purchase tickets online at noon tomorrow with a one time only code, and this would eb for opening day (rings!) and the Yankee games. I haven't bought tickets for Fenway; the only time I have is when they visit St. Pete. So, my question...am I actually going to have a shot at buying 4 tickets tomorrow?

No idea, dreamer.. good luck! I hope you land them.

And to think that just a few short years ago, the Red Sox and Yankees were locked in a bitter bidding war for his services...

A Carl Pavano update!

Insert buttocks joke here.

Post commentor Raul is on the ball.

"Oh, he will have a great year. This is year four--He must do good to get another $40 mil in the off season"

Not only don't I doubt that, I expect it. Yankee fans should not be worried about his output, they should be worried about Cashman resigning him for another 4.

Happy Truck Day Red Sox fans, a tiny little sign that life is about to start again.

The "All Steriod Olympics" skit w/Hartman. He,he.. classic AG.

Hey Boston Dreamer, I've been in a virtual waiting room for almost 2 hours trying to buy tickets online for opening day. HOpefully they won't sell out before I get a chance.

And thanks for the Phil Hartman picture, AG. I miss his glorious caveman-lawyer days from SNL. It's a shame his wife went and killed him and whatnot.

Atheose,

My beautiful, wonderful, pregnant wife logged in at 11:58 am and waited 32 minutes. We got so lucky. We WANTED the expensive seats (its going to be our 'babymoon,' which I guess is the new thing now), but we ended up with right field grandstand. 4 tickets. I'm so excited. I haven't been to been to Fenway since the early 90's, when my folks dragged me kicking and screaming to the Sunshine state.
I'm psyched! Good luck getting yous, my friend.

COngrats dreamer. I logged in at the same time (which was right as they came up) and have been waiting for almost 4 hours, and now tickets are sold out for Opening Day. Looks like I'll be spending $550 for two tickets in the right-field bleachers, which would have only cost me $26 each. Sigh.

I'm going to be at the April 22nd game at Fenway, against the Angels. I will never wear Boston gear, but I think I can root for them for that one game, especially if they're like 5 games behind by then :)

Nobody likes the Angels.

Congrats, Bostondreamer. I logged in at the same time and waited almost 4 hours, and now tickets for Opening Day are all sold out. Looks like I'll be spending $580 for two tickets in the rightfield bleachers that would have cost me only $26 each. Oh well, it's still worth it!

"but I think I can root for them for that one game"

Rudy? :)

Hah. Let's just say I can be happy with the game no matter what happens.

by the way what's the update on matt clement?...pavano's soul-sister...

Speaking of lifting weights, check out this article in the Boston Herald:

Apparently Pedroia is buffing up like Hanz and Franz.

the part that made me smile was when they said he was doing "stretching" exercises...

My lord, is that an ugly man.
