It's not unlikely he was decapitated from the impact, and witnesses said he had been drinking at Mike Shannon's.
Sad.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch continues to report that Josh probably was hammered when he crashed.
Also hints that teammates and La Russa knew he had a drinking problem.
I hope La Russa (especially given his DUI) and MLB use this as a soap box to point out the dangers of drunken driving.
This is very sad, and turning a blind eye didn't help anyone.
