Wow, that's cool that Verducci perused our site, but hey Tom, ever heard of a HYPERLINK!?!?!

Question:

Any SI subscribers who get the print edition out there who can confirm if this Verducci story is taken from the newsstand edition or if that version is an abridged version of the online one?

Does YFiB (and YFSF) make it into the newsstand edition?!

Congrats guys...

Love it.

Oh, pretty interesting article too.

It looks like a newsstand piece, SF, but I have no first-hand knowledge.

Kudos to Verducci for an excellently written piece. Kudos also to YFiB for scoring high praise by being featured alongside Japan's most famous haiku as one of the two section breaks in Verducci's piece. I suspect it means he wanted to use the Japanese haiku so badly that he scoured the Net to try to find a Matsuzaka-related counterpoint and ran across our contest. Just a guess.

Beth from Cursed to First posts that indeed the story -- and the haiku, with credit and all to YFiB and YFSF -- is in the print edition. Cover story, as a matter of fact.
